    The Canasta Club meeting was held at the home of Alice Meeks with Bev Garman as hostess.

Canasta was played with high won by Vera Drudge; low, Bev Garman.

    GREENCASTLE - Gretchen Dalton, a junior at DePauw University, from Warsaw, is spending this semester in the university's Mediterranean Studies program in Athens, Greece.

Gretchen is a 1978 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Broocks Dalton Sr., Warsaw.

October 29 1955

    Michaele Lucas, 13, Warsaw's only entry in a band, drum major and baton twirling contest held at Northrup Field in Fort Wayne, received a superior rating in baton twirling.

Michaele, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lucas, Market Street, lacked only three points of having a perfect score of 76. She received the highest possible score in 17 of the 18 classifications.

October 29 1930

    A lady's wrist watch, smaller than an ordinary 10-cent piece, is now on display in Burden's jewelry windows, 205 S. Buffalo St.

Burden's watch experts consider it one of the marvels of present day watch construction. The case of the watch is made of solid platinum, studded with finely cut pure white diamonds around the edge. It is valued by Burden at $1,000.
