    Warsaw will be represented in the New York Marathon Nov. 5 by one of the city's firefighters. Carey Stogsdill has been training for the event every chance he gets, according to his coworkers. He is ready to give the Big Apple his best shot. Stogsdill has been a firefighter for about three years.

    Ann Wolf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Wolf, Rt. 4, Warsaw, currently teaching first grade at Skyland School in northeast Atlanta, Ga., has accepted a teaching position in the DeKalb County Schools in Atlanta, Ga. She received a B.S. degree at Indiana State University, Terre Haute, this past summer.

October 29 1949

    Josephine Creighton, of Route 5, Warsaw, has been elected president of the senior class at Indiana University's training school for nurses. The school is located on the Medical Center campus at Indianapolis.

October 29 1924

    Walter Pae, Warsaw tree surgeon, and a crew of five Warsaw men, including Forrest Norris, Paul Phillips, Diner Ellis, Carl Hand and Morrice Eckhart, are employed at Culver Military Academy doing tree surgery. A monster tree, 112 feet high, 92-foot limb spread and almost 6 feet in diameter at the base, is being saved through tree surgery by them. A cavity large enough for three men to stand in the center of the base is being filled and treated.
