BLOOMINGTON - Robert F. Snyder, Milford, will receive the Pearl Harbor Commemorative Medal.
Steve Hemmer, 11, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Carolyn) Hemmer, of 617 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, recently won $23.50 prize money for his ability in obtaining the most new customers during the past month. With a paper route of 67 customers, it takes the carrier between one to one and one-half hours to complete the route. Steve, being the top carrier of the month, obtained 15 new subscribers to The Times-Union, proving his salesmanship ability.
Marilyn Berkeypile is the worthy adviser of the Bourbon Assembly of the Order of Rainbow for Girls. Berkeypile and the other officers were installed in a colorful ceremony held recently at the Bourbon Masonic hall.
The oldest cucumber pickle in the world was on display in The Times office today when W.E. Beam, 629 S. Buffalo St., showed a pickle grown in a bottle. It was 77 years old and preserved in alcohol. the pickle appears solid. It was made to grow in a bottle by W.E. Beams' father.
