October 26 1988

    Second Lt. Sean P. Murphy, son of Robert and Gayle Murphy, Warsaw, received his pilot wings at graduation ceremonies for Class 88-08 on Sept. 23, at Reese Air Force Base, Lubbock, Texas. Lt. Murphy had participated in undergraduate pilot training at Reese since Oct. 1987. Upon receiving his wings, he was assigned to fly the F-15.

    The 1973 Golden Egg Award was presented to John Frederich, Atwood, at the 55th annual meeting of the Indiana State Poultry Association Inc. in Fort Wayne this week.

The award was for his activities over and beyond the call of duty particularly with emphasis on the poultry industry.

    Pretty 16-year-old Wyland Titus, Atwood, reigns supreme as queen of the 1948 Egg Show. The Atwood high school junior was adjudged queen Thursday evening over a field of 10 contestants. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben J. Titus, Atwood.
