    Vicki Romine was sworn in as postmaster at Atwood on Oct. 14. She has worked for the United States Postal Service for 10 years, starting with two years at R.R. Donnelley in the detached mail unit. For the past eight years, she has worked at the Mentone post office as a part-time flexible clerk.

    The names of two Kosciusko County residents were added to a distinguished list Tuesday night when they were named the Farm Bureau Man and Woman of the Year.

Joe Paxton, 70, of Warsaw, and Mrs. Kenneth (Martha Alice) Dickey, 57, of Silver Lake, received plaques honoring them as Man and Woman of the Year.

    Donna Barnhart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Barnhart, Leesburg, has recently been elected to served as treasurer of the sophomore class at Manchester College. She was also elected to serve as representative of Oakwood Hall for the Dorm Council of the Women's Residence and has been appointed to serve as secretary for Professor John Dotterer and assistant in the business office of the college.

    Scholarships at DePauw University given for high scholastic grades valued at $800 each and paying all expenses of tuition and fees for four years have been awarded to the following students:

Franklin Cole, Winona Lake; Edwin Getty, Silver Lake; Dale Stackhouse, Bourbon; Charles Swick, Silver Lake; Donald Jennings, LaGrange.
