    Recently, in honor of National Respiratory Therapy Month, the cardiopulmonary department at Kosciusko Community Hospital conducted a coloring contest for Kosciusko County students. Students were to draw or color a picture telling how they can keep their lungs healthy. Winners are Jennifer Light, Kara Poling and Billy Martin.

    The Etna Township Fire Department recently celebrated its 90th anniversary at the Heritage Park Building in Etna Green.

Following the meal, Fire Chief Eldon Burgess welcomed the group. Kenneth Plummer received a prize for being the oldest fireman present.

October 26 1951

    Gilbert Bates, Milford, state commander of the American Legion, went Saturday to Miami, Fla., where he will attend the organization's national convention during the week of Oct. 14. Commander Bates was accompanied by other state officers from Indiana.


75 Years Ago
October 26 1926

    One of the finest artesian wells, not only in Kosciusko County but northern Indiana, is now found on the east side of Ridinger Lake. The well is 175 feet deep and flows 14 feet above the lake and has a flow of 15,000 gallons of water every 24 hours.

Announcement was made that before the pipe had been put into the well, to control the flow of water, it shot to 27 feet above the lake.
