Holly Davis of Atwood has been selected for the 29th annual edition of "Who's Who Among American High School Students."
Davis, the daughter of Cindy Davis, Atwood, and Greg Davis, Warsaw, was one of only 5 percent of American high school students selected for this honor.

Loretta Ulshafer, a South Whitley High School student, won the "drum major award" at the Indiana State High School Band and Baton Twirling contest held at Northrop Field in Fort Wayne.
Most of the drum majors competing in the contest were young men, but Loretta came away with the top honors.

Hundreds of big wild geese flying south for the winter were attracted by the lights of Warsaw at 10:30 last night and circled above the city at a low altitude. The honking kept many citizens awake.
