    Indiana Wildlife Artist have announced Laura and Jim Hill, North Webster, and Jeffrey Klinefelter, Etna Green, were among the winners at an exhibition held recently in Indianapolis.

Laura received a first-place award for a graphic drawing of a great blue heron titled "The Cove"; Jim received a second-place award for his photography of a bursting milkweed pod titled "Pre-Flight"; and Klinefelter received a third-place award for his oil painting titled "Flight To Cover," and his oil painting "Spoonbills" received a judge's choice award.

    Two students from Warsaw Community High School's Music Department have been chosen for the All State Choir representing the best from auditions throughout northern Indiana.

Steve Hoffer, son of Janet Hoffer and Doug Hoffer, and Gail Tusing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Tusing, were selected by auditions of more than 60 students in northern Indiana.

    Max Truex, Warsaw High School's small but stout-hearted distance runner, successfully defended his sectional cross-country championship at Mishawaka yesterday afternoon, winning the two-mile race in record-breaking time of 10:02.5. The Warsaw junior, undefeated this fall, will compete in the state meet at Indianapolis on November 1.

    BOURBON - Bourbon, said to be the first town in the United States to put on a Halloween celebration in a municipal manner, and where it has been followed annually ever since, will hold a monster celebration Monday evening. Many cash prizes are offered.
