Cirilo Lopez, Leesburg, won second place in the English as a Second Language division of the state contest.
Ronda Waggoner, 16, of Warsaw, recently took best of breed and best opposite sex of breed with a pair of Palimino rabbits at the National Convention of the American Rabbit Breeders Association in Saginaw, Mich. The Warsaw High School sophomore was among 1,025 entrants in the youth division. She also received a first place in the Red Satin and White Satin breeds, second in Siamese Satin, and best of breed in the Sable Rex breed. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Ron Waggoner.
Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Kirkpatrick and son, DeVerl, of near Pierceton, and Dorothea Boyer and son, Gene, of Barbee Lakes, attended the ice show at the Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum Friday evening.
Donn Davis, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. P.F. Davis, 749 E. Main St., made his first parachute drop from an airplane here yesterday as the major attraction of the Welch aerial circus program at the Zimmer Airport west of Warsaw before a throng estimated at upwards of 10,000 persons. Thousands of autos were parked along the highways.
