The 1989 4-H/FFA Tri-County Soil Judging Contest for Elkhart, Marshall and Kosciusko counties was held Oct. 3 in Marshall County. Twenty-three FFA members from three FFA chapters represented Kosciusko County this year.
Mark Cummings, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cummings, 903 S. Lake St., Warsaw, has been selected as a member of the All-State Choir that will perform for the Teachers Convention in Indianapolis in Clowes Hall.
William Pfahler, Route 2, Warsaw, a student in the school of engineering at Purdue University, has been accepted as a member of the 180-piece Purdue military band for the current season.
Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Coleman, West Fort Wayne Street, observed their golden wedding anniversary by entertaining a number of relatives. A lap luncheon was served. A tub of ice cream intended as a part of the refreshments and which had been placed at the side of the porch was stolen about 8 p.m.
