    Eldridge Bailey, Milford, recently received a 35-year Employee Service Award from Chore-Time Equipment in recognition of the length of service he has contributed to the company. Presenting the honor to him was Mark Lantz, plant manager for Chore-Time.

October 24 1977

    Recognized at the annual Extension Workers Conference banquet at Purdue University this week were five northern Indiana agents who have completed 15 years of service with the Cooperative Extension Service. A certificate was presented to Victor Virgil of Kosciusko County by the Indiana Extension Agents Association.

October 24 1952

    Reba M. Geist, director of the South Whitley High School Band, recently received a trophy for the band, which won a first division rating at the annual marching contest sponsored by the Northern Indiana Band, Orchestra and Vocal Association at the New Haven High School gymnasium.

Awards in the twirling contest were given to the following South Whitley participants: Gwen Whitesell, first division; Maxine Stands, Carolyn Beard and Judy Yeager, second; Josephine Shearer and Deloris Coolman, third.

October 24 1927

    Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Jennings, of 114 S. Scott St., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary October 24. The home was decorated with autumn flowers and golden chrysanthemums. Mrs. George Richhart and Mrs. George Thomas, who attended the wedding 50 years ago, were among the guests.
