    Sue Castellanos, LPN, attended the 12th annual conference on patient education Sept 13-15 at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo.

Castellanos, who has been a nurse for 18 years, is employed with Warsaw Family Practice. She graduate from St. Joe Medical Center in 1972.

    Peppery writer Doug Toney (former Times-Union state editor) is knee-deep in Ball State University campus activities as he works for his master's degree in journalism. Doug's thesis work includes a research paper on the founding of the Northern Indianan by Gen. Reub Williams in 1854 down through its 125-year history, including its period as the Warsaw Daily Times and concluding with its purchase and merger with the Warsaw Daily Union, becoming the Times-Union, in 1939.

    Mrs. Vincent Gaddis, Winona Lake, left for Washington, D.C., where she will appear in a series of three TV programs over radio station WMAL. Mrs. Gaddis, whose book, "How to Save a Thousand Dollars a Year at Home," was recently published, will demonstrate various examples of home economics on the three television programs with the station's director of women's activities, Ruth Crane.

    Donald Archer, of Bellevue, Ohio, is the youngest conductor employed on the Nickel Plate Railway System, receiving his appointment and promotion in competitive examination last week in competition with 14 other aspirant employees of the railroad. Archer is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Archer, of South Buffalo Street, Warsaw, a native of this city and a former soldier with the Warsaw units in Mexican border and World War service.
