    Kosciusko Community Hospital will go smoke free on Nov. 1.

As a hospital, responsible for the health of the community, Kosciusko Community Hospital will initiate a new non-smoking policy that will prohibit smoking by visitors, employees, volunteers, patients and physicians within the building. Smoking will be limited to outside the hospital.

    Ray Williamson, a 20-year member of the Atwood fire department, received the Kosciusko County Fireman of the Year award last night during the annual firemen's fish fry held at the fairgrounds.

Williamson is presently serving his 10th year as lieutenant of the Atwood fire department and has also served as treasurer.

    Carol Lois Rhinehart, 11 years old, of Pierceton, is the winner of the national poster contest sponsored by the Auxiliary to the American Legion.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rhinehart, of Pierceton, and is a student in the sixth grade in the school there.

    Vic Wallace, who drives one of the "kid hacks" for the Plain Township schools, is undoubtedly the most careful driver in the county. Every time he reaches the interurban crossing he not only stops but gets out of the bus and looks up and down the tracks. This would be a good example for other drivers to follow.
