    BOURBON - Sheila Monesmith sang her way to the top Saturday night, capturing the title of 1994 Triton Junior Miss and walking away with more than $1,500 in scholarships.

Monesmith, the 18-year-old daughter of David and Kathy Monesmith of Bourbon, also won the creative and performing arts and presence and composure competitions, as well as being named scholastic runner-up.

    Otis Dickey retired from R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. on Oct. 1, where he had worked for nearly seven years as a custodian in the West Plant Bindery. Dickey plans on spending his retirement years fishing, hunting and playing euchre.

    Mrs. Roy Walters reports that her husband found about 15 pounds of puff balls. While none of them were as large as the one found by Ed Ragan, they did find quite a few. The two largest ones they found weighed 6 and 4 pounds each.

    Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hatfield entertained at three tables of bridge Saturday night. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Reed, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Minear, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Slyster, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jamison and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Reed, of Chicago.
