Among some old papers and trash found in the basement of Phillipson's Clothing Store were two railroad passes issued to the late Col. C.W. Chapman, then a member of the Indiana state senate, 51 years ago. One was issued by the Indianapolis, Peru and Chicago Railway Co., including the Chicago, Cincinnati and Louisville and Michigan City and Indianapolis Railroads. The other was issued by the Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati and Indianapolis Railway. Both passes are in a splendid state of preservation.
