    PIERCETON - A man described as "always being there to assist when others need help" is the 1991 Citizen of the Year.

Glenn Hill, 74, a resident of this community for the past 60 years, was honored by the Pierceton Area Chamber of Commerce at its 17th annual banquet in the Pierceton Middle School Wednesday night.

    With the usual pomp and before a large home crowd, Warsaw celebrated its 1976 homecoming Friday night. According to the penny vote from the student body, Steve Reed, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Reed, was chosen king and Christie Eherenmen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Eherenmen, was named queen.

    Mr. and Mrs. Galen Thomas, North Park Avenue, entertained at a birthday and farewell dinner Wednesday evening in honor of her brother, Sammie Younce, who was leaving Thursday to enter the armed forces.

Sammie received many gifts including a kit to use in the army.

    Ora Shumaker and his gang of house movers are removing the smoke-stack, boiler and heavy machinery from the old Walter H. Cook mill of North Detroit Street, and shipping them to Fort Wayne. The Wayne Machine Co. purchased the machinery for $2,000 from the State Bank of Warsaw.
