    Bernie White, formerly of Warsaw, can now be seen on Fox Network in the series "Dragnet." The updated police story based on the 1960s police series has been available in other television markets for several years, but was just recently made available locally. White co-stars on the show.

    Two Warsaw Community High School choral department members, Rebecca Ruth Zellner and Randy Clinker, have been selected to sing in the Indiana State Choir.

Becky is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Zellner, 103 E. 12th St., Winona Lake, and Randy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Clinker, Rt. 1, Silver Lake.

    The court house clock will not strike for several days, until a new striking gear can be obtained and installed, it was reported by custodian Howard Hemmer.

Several teeth were torn out of the gear recently when the striking spring broke and repair efforts have proved futile, Hemmer said. The broken teeth were braised on the old gear but snapped right off again. It was pointed out that the striker, a six-pound sledge, is operated by a drum and cable arrangement and that pressure on the gear teeth is considerable.

    Ray Kuhn, principal of Pierceton schools, has been named on the legislative board of the Indiana State High School Association, to represent the second district for three years.
