    Three people were inducted into Kosciusko County Republican Hall of Fame Wednesday. They are Gene Brumfield, Geneva Brumfield and Rex Early, a former Indiana State Republican Chairman.

October 17 1978

    Statistics and circumstances have earned Triton's Rich Brunk the Times-Union Back of the Week Award for the first time this season. The hefty fullback took over quarterback honors for the Trojans when regular QB Brent Morris twisted his knee. He responded with 142 yards rushing, 2-for-2 passing for 49 yards and a touchdown, TD runs of 69 and 49 yards and one PAT Pass. All that after having the measles the previous week.

    Nineteen members of the Burket Cheerio 4-H Club were present at a recent meeting held in the basement of the Methodist Church for the election of officers for the coming year.

The following officers were elected: President, Kay Polk; vice president, Peggy Tinkey; secretary, Janice Nelson; assistant secretary, Betty Hohman; treasurer, Dixie Polk; health and safety leader, Barbara Longbrake; assistant health and safety leader, Carolyn Warren; chorister, Margaret Bauker; assistant chorister, Norman Goshert; recreation leader, Linda Goshert; assistant recreational leader, Joyce Parker; and reporter, Betty Hohman.

    The Junior Sewing Club of Pierceton met at the home of Mrs. J.C. McCarter on Wednesday evening and enjoyed a social time together. Mrs. Clyde Bishop and Mrs. B.H. Summy received beautiful prizes as winners of the contests. Mrs. Royce Clover, Mrs. Eugene McMeekin, Mrs. Clyde Bishop and Mrs. Leslie Orr were guests.
