Mrs. Larry Bolinger, Suzette Graf and Mrs. John Weesner, of South Whitley, are new members of the local Delta Theta Tau sorority. They were initiated into the chapter at a recent meeting for which Mrs. Richard Yarnell, president of the organization, was hostess.
NORTH MANCHESTER - Jacob Miller is thankful that thin hosiery is not in style for men, though if he had been wearing a short skirt he might more easily have gotten out of a difficulty that beset him. As he started his automobile he felt what he thought was a small dog, a family pet, brushing against his leg. Next instant he realized that it was not the dog, but a good-sized rat, and it was rapidly making its way up his pants leg - on the inside. He grabbed it, stopped its upward progress, and gripping it tight with both hands, climbed from the car. By dint of much shaking and pushing, he ousted the rat. He was neither bitten nor scratched, but in the future prefers some other kind of a rat trap.
