    North Webster's David Johnson might have a career in art when the 12-year-old gets older. Johnson was a regional winner in a contest in competition with more than 500 youth who submitted possible bookcovers for the massively popular Goosebumps book series.

Johnson won $500 in gifts, including a sleeping bag, T-shirts and 32 Goosebumps books written by R.L. Stine.

    Dr. George Haymond, of Warsaw, scored a hole-in-one at the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club recently.

Dr. Haymond was in a foursome with Louis Breading, Charles Hughes and Fritz Schafer when he aced the 175-yard hole, No. 3 with a five wood.

    At a public ceremony at the Bourbon Methodist Church, Cara Lyn Fenstermaker was installed as worthy advisor of the Bourbon Assembly of Rainbow Girls. Cara is the daughter of Etna Green residents, Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Koenig.

    Leesburg, Milford and the vicinity in the north and east of here was visited at 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon by a hard hail storm and rain.

Hailstones as large as hen eggs fell, according to Miles Stillwell.
