    Carolyn Mock, principal of Lakeview Middle School in Warsaw, has been selected Principal of the Year for District 2.

Each year members of the Indiana Association of School Principals select an outstanding elementary, middle and high school principal from each of 12 districts in the state. These people will be honored at a recognition banquet at Indianapolis.

    Junior varsity cheerleaders of Lakeland Christian Academy won the Spirit Stick at cheerleading camp recently. Members of the group are Margaret McDairmant, Dawnna Plummer, Joyce Shuler, Grace Hoagland and Becky Ross.

October 12 1954

    Mrs. Hershal Drudge, of near Claypool, brought several very large tomatoes to The Times-Union building. One weighed 2-3/4 pounds and measured 16-3/4 inches around. She gave them to Milo Clase because he announced over the radio recently that his tomatoes weren't doing too well.

    Ike Hire, manager of the A&P store, South Buffalo Street, discovered a small chameleon in a bunch of bananas.
