    UPLAND - Max Fulwider recently successfully auditioned to become a member of the jazz and symphonic bands at Taylor University.

He is the son of Linda Fulwider, Warsaw, and a graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He is a sophomore music major.

    Gary Lipply of Silver Lake, and his Guernsey cow, "Grandview F. Jennie," captured a first place ribbon Thursday in competition among three-year-old Guernsey cows during the National Junior Guernsey Show at the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis. The Upjohn veterinary and TUCO animal health divisions of The Upjohn Co. co-sponsored the ribbons presented at the five-day show, which ended Sunday.

    E.E. Little, Milford, plans to leave Saturday by plane for Frankfort, Germany, to visit his son, Bill, who is in the accounting department of the service paper, Stars and Stripes.

On his return trip he plans to visit Paris, London and places of interest in Scotland and Ireland.

    Snow covered the ground in Warsaw 10 years ago today. On Oct. 11, 1917, there was a fall of 10 inches of snow at South Bend.
