    Lamar Peugh of Warsaw and Aubrey Coy of Wawasee garnered all-conference cross-country honors in the Northern Lakes Conference.

In team standings, Wawasee tied for third among girls' teams, while Warsaw tied for sixth. In boys competition, Warsaw tied for third and Wawasee placed fifth.

October 11 1979

    MIDDLEBURY - Wawasee won a double dual cross country meet in the team's final meet prior to the East Noble Sectional. Scores were Wawasee 21, Northridge 34 and Wawasee 21, West Noble 38.

Cam Boyer of Wawasee capped a perfect individual dual meet season as he crossed the finish line first with a time of 12:50, four seconds faster than runner-up Keith Gingerich of Northridge. Boyer won every dual or double dual meet in which the Warriors participated this season.

October 11 1954

    Pvt. Dana R. Bowers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dana E. Bowers, of Claypool, celebrated his 21st birthday at Fort Sill, Okla., where he is training as an artillery observer. In the course, called "flasher" training, the students learn to locate "enemy" guns by the sound and flash of their shells.

Dana writes that it seems odd to be back in school. The observer specialist uses geometry, trigonometry and electronic devices to pinpoint the source of fire.

October 11 1929

    Sarah Gilworth, who is attending Indiana University, was recently chosen a member of the Garrick Club, a dramatic organization. Sixteen members were chosen from a class of 200 contestants. In the near future a play titled "Daisy Mayme" is to be given in which Sarah has the leading part. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Gilworth of East Center Street.
