    Kosciusko County Coroner John Sadler recently was named "Outstanding County Coroner" during a state conference in Allen County.

Sadler was commended by his peers for his contribution to the Indiana State Coroner's Association and the Indiana Coroner's Training Board.

    Senior Connie Whitcomb was crowned homecoming queen at Grace College Friday night. The 1980 queen is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Whitcomb, Warsaw.


50 Years Ago

October 11 1955

    Remember? - Livery stables? Warsaw had half a dozen in the early 1900s. Huffer's, Ripple's, Fawley's, Holbrook's, Polk's were busy places, had well-trained horses, fancy buggies, fringed-top carriages. You rented a "rig" for a Sunday afternoon drive with a girlfriend for $2. Coming home late you wrapped the reins around the whip socket, had both arms free for hugging. Old Dobbins knew his way home unguided.

    Charles H. Ward, of Warsaw, a junior at Wabash College, has pledged to the Sphinx Club, an honorary society of the most popular men on the campus. He has distinguished himself as a football player.
