    The Grace College tennis team, coached by Mike Grill, won its first ever NAIA District 21 state title in competition with 11 other colleges. Action began on the outdoor courts at North Central High School in Indianapolis and concluded indoors in Kokomo because of rain.

Oct. 22 1972

    Staff Sergeant Merl Melton, of the 235th Flight facilities, Baer Field, has returned after completing 139-day tour of active duty with the Air Force Communications Service in Germany. He is a radar maintenance technician and performed his tour at Sembach, Germany.

    The Warsaw Garden Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Funk, E. Main St. The program was "Plant Ye Herbs," given by Mrs. Russel Knepp, and "Flocks of Phlox," given by Mrs. H. H. Crabill.

    The new school building, located just outside the eastern corporation line of the village of Claypool, is rapidly nearing completion, and the fondest hopes are entertained for the opening of one of the finest school buildings in all northern Indiana by Thanksgiving Day.
