Wendy Rust won the title of 1989 Triton Junior Miss Saturday night. First runner-up was Dayna Cade, second runner-up was Kim Heisler and third runner-up was Lara Anders. Preliminary award winners were Anders for poise and appearance and scholastic achievement; Cade for youth fitness; Rust for creative and performing arts and runner-up for scholastic achievement; and Krista Hepler won the Spirit of Junior Miss Award.
More than 100 persons attended ground-breaking ceremonies Sunday afternoon for the new Kosciusko County Hospital, to be built northeast of Warsaw at CR 75N and Harrison Street. It is hoped the new hospital, estimated to cost $7 million, will be in operation by late 1975 or early 1976.
Robert Sherer won top honors in the county trap shoot held last Sunday at the Northern Indiana Rod and Gun club near Tri-Lakes. As winner, Sherer received the annual Raupfer Award, a statuette of a trap-shooter mounted on a pedestal.
Work on the new Atwood community building is expected to start very soon and may be completed early in December. The new community hall is to be especially adapted for basketball with a 60-by-70-foot gymnasium and a seating capacity of 700 to 800.
