Mrs. W.A. Weick, proprietor of the Antique and Gift Shop on East Market Street, now has on display an old cane and fork which were the property of Mrs. Weick's father, Frank Dillon, of Long Beach, Calif., during the Civil War. He brought the fork home with him when he was discharged from the army, in which he served in the 19th Indiana battery light artillery, and the cane is made from a tree under which the last surrender of the Civil War was made, a spot about two miles north of Citronelle, Ala. The tree was oak and has since blown down and was donated to the city of Citronelle to be sold as relics.
