    Ann Robinson, a Warsaw Community High School English teacher, has been named a "Hoosier Teacher of English" by the Indiana Council of Teachers at the ICTE Fall Conference at Indianapolis Convention Center.

One of four Indiana teachers to receive the recognition for excellence this year, Robinson was nominated by colleagues and students who cited her personal and professional attributes that contribute to outstanding teaching of English.

    Ethelyn L. Ker, 92 years "young," of 802 E. Center St., Warsaw, exercised her American privilege today by casting her vote at the Warsaw Community High School at 10 a.m. This was the 71st time Mrs. Ker has voted, and she said, "I have voted in every election since women were given the opportunity." By shortly after 10 a.m. there had been 60 votes cast at the high school, which is in Ward 2 Precinct 2.

    State Trooper Esil Bemenderfer, who has served the Akron community for 16 years, was presented a watch by Akron Hallowe'en celebrators Monday night. Officer Bemenderfer is currently up for retirement.

    Home-Making class No. 1 of the high school taught by Miss Heath hiked to Winona Wednesday evening for a marshmallow and weinie roast. A good time was enjoyed by all. Those present were: The teacher, Miss Heath, Mary Alfred, Bertha Evans, Ethel Zolman, Dorothy Weiss, Lois Jones, Mary Lynch, Virginia Hodges, Pauline Fisher, Olive Hall, Marjorie Fisher and Mary Phillips.
