    Merrill Bear, who has greeted the public at the Warsaw Post Office stamp window for the past 10 years, has taken over delivery of mail on rural route 1. He began working for the postal service on June 1, 1957. Prior to this, he served for three years in Africa and Italy with the Signal Corps in the Army attached to the 12th Air Force division.

    The new mercury vapor street lights could not be described as helpful to the appearance. The ladies turning out at the parade Wednesday night complained that the rays gave their make-up a purple cast, and they weren't kidding. They looked like zombies. Reportedly makeup to go with this form of lighting is being readied for the market.
