    CLEVELAND, Tenn. - Despite entering the National Christian College Athletic Association Division I volleyball tournament as the top seed, the Grace Lancers faced several obstacles. After the disappointing home loss to Taylor last week, confidence was lacking and opponents were hungry for their shot at an upset.

But Grace overcame all that to bring home the NCCAA National Championship Saturday.

    Erin Grandstaff was all smiles after she was crowned Manchester Junior Miss 1981 at the recent pageant at Manchester College. First runner-up was Cindy Hoover and second runner-up was Amy Richards.

Grandstaff is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Grandstaff.

    Mrs. Jack Engle Jr., of 202 E. Market St., has been entered by the local Alpha Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority in the "Miss Valentine" contest, sponsored by the home chapter, of Kansas City, Mo. The contest is open to competitors from the United States and Hawaii.

    The Milford bridge club met Monday evening with Maurine Ralson at her home in Pierceton. Five tables of bridge progressed with Mrs. Joe Ruch winning first prize for the ladies and Mrs. Fred Snyder, of Pierceton, receiving the ladies' consolation prize. Roe Helser won men's first prize and Loren Heckman, of Bremen, won men's consolation.
