    The Warsaw Community High School marching band, under the direction of Marty Becker, is one of 20 bands that will perform in Chicago's 1988 McDonald's Charity Christmas Parade Saturday.

ABC Television will carry the parade live on more than 200 networks affiliate stations across the country.

    Tom Slack, North Manchester, is one of 47 Hoosier 4-H youths selected to represent Indiana at the national 4-H Congress in Chicago.

Delegates are selected for their outstanding achievements in projects and activities.

November 30 1948

    Farrell Brallier, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Brallier of east Warsaw, today thanked his lucky stars that he was still alive or uninjured. The well-known Warsaw youth, who resides with his parents in the Lake Lawn addition on the north side of Winona Lake, was cleaning his shotgun when the piece accidentally discharged. The blast shattered a hole in his father's living room ceiling and tore down an archway between two rooms.

November 30 1923

    Through a story printed by the Warsaw Daily Times some weeks ago, Joe Foote, Warsaw restaurateur, today heard from his aunt, Mrs. Freeman Smith, aged 86, of Centerville, near Richmond.

The aunt and nephew had lost trace of each other more than 33 years ago. The Times item concerning the return of $1 returned by a conscious-stricken debtor to Joe Foote was copied by the Centerville newspaper and read with interest by the aged aunt, who immediately wrote the long-lost nephew.
