    Two graduates from Wawasee High School have been recognized by the College Board for exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement examinations.

Mike Mattix, son of Evan Mattix and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hormann, and Barbara Leininger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Verne Leininger, qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning grades of 3 or above on five or more AP exams with an average exam grade of at least 3.5.

    As guests of White-Westinghouse and McCaffery Co., Jim and Kay Smith recently took a trip to Madeira Island, Portugal. The Smiths were honored as a result of their superior sales performance during 1976.

    Homer Knapp, Milford, claims he has one of the largest collection of photograph records in this area. He says he has a collection of nearly 2,000 records, kept in cabinets which line the walls of his Milford home. The collection includes hundreds of sacred and operatic numbers in addition to hundreds of folk songs and popular tunes.

    Two Democratic county candidates filed their expense accounts with County Clerk Russell H. Butler today. Laura Chambers, candidate for recorder, expended $8.40 for advertising. James Fawley, candidate for county assessor, spent $7 in his campaign for election.
