A Warsaw native has been selected to dance in a special review in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve.
One of the youngest members of the Warsaw Police Department was named 1979 "Policeman Of The Year" at the Annual Associate Fraternal Order of Police Banquet in the Shrine Building.
Joel Haney, of Warsaw, trombonist in the Manchester College orchestra, is one of the 10 Manchester College students selected to participate in the All-State College orchestra reading sessions at the Indiana Music Educator's convention in Indianapolis. It was announced by Professor Vernon Stinebaugh, conductor of the North Manchester Civic Symphony and associate professor of violin and theory at Manchester College, who will be one of the six symphony conductors at the sessions.
In a recent issue of The Chicago Daily Times, a picture newspaper, an illustrated article appeared showing Dr. W.E. Roth, a dentist, of that city, who frequently visits here as the guest of Hazel Nelson Nettleton, with a turkey which he purchased at Indianapolis. In the throat of the turkey Dr. Roth found a diamond ring valued at $300. The photograph also showed the ring in an inset and Dr. Roth taking the ring from the throat of the turkey, which came from a farm near Indianapolis. Dr. Roth's Warsaw friends had one comment to make, and that was, "Some folks have all the luck."
