    Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Kosciusko County recently held its seventh appreciation dinner at the First Presbyterian Church of Warsaw to honor its volunteers.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Big Brother of the Year Award to Keith Stevens, Warsaw, and the Big Sister of the Year award to Debra Rich, Claypool.

    Jim Molebash, Kosciusko District Scout Executive, congratulated Bob Niemann on his Eagle Scout award. Niemann was awarded his Eagle by his former Scoutmaster Bob Myers of Troop 715 of Winona Lake. Bob is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Niemann, Rt. 1, Warsaw, and is presently a student at Indiana University.

November 29 1952

    Pierceton won first and Burket second in the county 4-H poultry judging contest held at the fairgrounds.

Pierceton's team, composed of Del Caudill, Donnie Sellers and Jack Bollinger and coached by Richard Reed, scored 2,400 points, and the Burket team, composed of Rex Bowen, Janice Nelson and Anne Nelson and coached by Delford Nelson, scored 2,218 points.

    Mrs. George H. Jordan, 410 W. South Street, picked ripe strawberries from her garden on Thanksgiving Day. The strawberry patch in her garden still has quite a few blossoms, Mrs. Jordan asserts.
