    Navy Petty Officers 3rd Class Michael L. Jackson, son of Larry Jackson, Warsaw, was recently promoted to his present rank while serving aboard the amphibious transport dock USS Juneau, homeported in San Diego.

The 1990 graduate of Warsaw Community High School joined the Navy in August 1990.

    Retiring after 31 years of service as a Warsaw Community Public Library trustee, Joe Lessig was presented with a plaque of appreciation by trustee Charles Wheeler. Lessig was trustee from 1947 until this year.

November 29 1953

    Mrs. Jack Mowrey was awarded the first prize for having the most clever costume at the hard-times party, held by the members of the American Legion Auxiliary at the Legion home.

Memberships were approved for the following new members: Mrs. Charles Smith, Mrs. Vern Gearhart, Mrs. Charles LaFollette and Mrs. L. Russell.

    Citizens of Winona Lake can all feel elated over the fact that the town today hasn't a cent of indebtedness.

Elizabeth Collisson, tells The Times that this morning she paid the last bond on the town's fire equipment and apparatus. This constituted the last indebtedness against the town.
