    Dennis Boggs, Warsaw, joined an elite group of FFA achievers recently.

Boggs received the national FFA Organization's highest degree of membership, that of American Farmer. The American Farmer degree is presented annually at the national FFA convention to the top two-tenths of 1 percent of FFA membership.

November 27 1973

    Navy Personnelman Second Class Richard E. Clouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thurlo E. Clouse, 507 N. Elm St., Nappanee, was named sailor of the month at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill. He received the honor for his outstanding performance of duty, initiative, leadership and example to fellow Navy men. A 1960 graduate of Nappanee High School, he joined the Navy in Nov. 1961.

November 27 1948

    Winners of Round Two of the Women's International Bowling Congress sweepstakes tournament, held at the local bowling alleys, were announced by Mrs. Eugene Kinch, secretary of the Warsaw Women's Bowling Association.

Mrs. William Wedrick, Silver Lake, had high series with games of 268-137-160, for 565. Her 268 game was believed to be one of the highest scores ever rolled here by a woman. Barbara Waechter's 512 series took second place in the major class.

November 27 1923

    Features of Warsaw's 37-to-0 defeat of Wabash High School Saturday at Wabash were a 90-yard run after intercepting a forward pass by quarterback Ed Akers, a touchdown by Charles Anglin, Warsaw tackle, on a recovered fumble for a touchdown from the 30-yard line.

Anglin, playing his third year on the team and his senior year, had waited until near the end of his high school career to pull the stunt that every line man waits for.
