    Ryan Sparrow, Warsaw, was recently named co-editor of "The Wellhouse," the campus magazine of Franklin College.

He is the son of Dennis and Kathy Sparrow, Warsaw.

    County Republican Chairman Ed Pratt was on hand in Syracuse Monday night to certify the appointment of Roxanna Hadley, Rt. 3, Syracuse, as new manager of the Syracuse license branch. Hadley was chosen to succeed manager Jack C. Vanderford, who is resigning at the end of this year.

    Seven Warsaw insurance men will attend the 54th annual convention of the Indiana Association of Insurance Agents at Indianapolis, Nov. 17-19, according to Ray L. Strayer, local chairman of the farm underwriting committee. Planning to attend in addition to Mr. Strayer are John Holm, Lester Ball, W. Robert Hall, James Painter, William Harvout and Joe Koors.

November 27 1927

    There will be no football in Warsaw for perhaps the first Thanksgiving Day since 1901, the year when Brick Hodges, bedecked in shin guards and tassel cap, ran the wrong way across his own Warsaw goal, then at the shouts of his teammates, doubled back and waded his way through the entire Wabash A.A. team for the touchdown which won the Turkey Day game for Warsaw. Rah! Rah!

Last night the Huntington team notified the Warsaw Merchants that they could not get their players to play on Thursday as agreed. The manager said he was sorry but the players simply "probably preferred to eat turkey at home."
