    Members of the newly formed Daisy Scout Troop 101 of the Lakeland Girl Scout Council received official Girl Scout pins and membership pens during ceremonies at the Pierceton Presbyterian Church. Daisy Scouts is the youngest group, consisting of 5- and 6-year-olds. Members are Jessica Protzman, Jessica Geiger, Heather Espinoza, Audrie Simison, Cassie Bause, Beth Kiser, Richelle Meeks, Gari Ratliff, Jennalyn Gebert and Mary Cartwright.

    Jim Miller's basketball team may be good, but his jokes are even better.

For the second year in a row, the Warsaw Community High School basketball coach has come away with the Noon Kiwanis Club's "Crying Towel Award." And a rather undeserving award it is, for most observers figure Miller's Tigers to be one of the best in the area, and even he admits he's excited about the upcoming campaign.

    Russell Sansbury, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sansbury, of Warsaw, has been appointed to serve as treasurer of the social committee at Manchester College. This committee schedules and sees that plans are made for social functions each weekend. A sophomore majoring in speech, he is currently serving as president of the Mike Club, station manager of the college radio station, WMIB, and is vice president of Calvin Ulrey Hall.

    Mrs. Jessie Dalton, Everett Anglin and Francis K. Bowser, of Warsaw, are among 1,000 bridge players from nearly every state, as well as Canada, Mexico and Hawaii, scheduled to play in the national championship tournament of the American Bridge League, which started in Chicago yesterday.
