    Making a difference. Being a friend. These words turned up over and over in testimonials to Sue Mock, who was named Warsaw Community Schools Teacher of the Year.

Mock, 43, was selected from 10 WCS teachers who were nominated by staff from their schools.

November 22 1980

    Winona Lake's Firemen of the Year were selected at the annual Christmas banquet this week. A committee made up of the fire chief and past recipients honored the two men for their dedication to the department and their community. The awards went to R. Quentin Rupe, serving the department for 21 years, and Ken Shepherd, assistant fire chief and a member of the department for 12 years.

November 22 1955

    Women of the Moose initiated Mrs. George Atkins and Jane Kintzel at a recent meeting conducted by Ethel Neer, senior regent, in the lodge hall.

Members were urged to turn in gifts for Mooseheart and Moosehaven by the end of the month. Freda Coplen received the attendance prize.

75 Years Ago

November 22 1930

    Piano pupils of Nellie Kilian presented a recital at the home of Mrs. Merle Funk, corner of Indiana and Market streets, Saturday. Pupils who took part in the recital were: Mary Cree Riddle, Jack Riddle, Evelyn Baker, Ardon Shira, Robert Ellison, Helen Jeanne Richer, Sybill Saylor, Winona Morris, Winifred Sanders, Barbara Dickey, Donella Cochran, Ruth Jane Arnold and Ruth Newlin.
