It's not the bridge to the 21st century, but it's still worth celebrating. At 4 p.m. Dec. 1, the Kosciusko County Historical Society will host a 100th birthday for the old Tippecanoe-Chinworth Bridge along Old 30 and CR 350W. Activities will include turning on the Christmas lights, toasting marshmallows and listening to favorite carols.

Bud Moon, secretary of the Warsaw Fire Department, is now known to his friends as "Cardinal Moon." The red hat has been conferred upon him by Police Chief Frank Lucas and truck driver Link Hay.

Moon had a 98-cent sailor straw hat which he had laid by for next season but Lucas and Hay got the hat and painted it red. The black band still remains so Moon now has a red hat. Friends are challenging him to wear it for one day at least. It is possible he will keep the hat to wear at the next fireman's state convention next June.
