    Cassandra Nicole Dishman, the daughter of Darin and Tammy Dishman, Claypool, is the winner of a $100 savings bond for being the 280th baby born at Whitley County Memorial Hospital. In honor of the hospital's 40th anniversary, every 40th baby born there is given a bond. Cassandra was born Oct. 22.

    Christy Beck, 15, of 411 S. Columbia St., Warsaw, has been named Co-Ed correspondent for the 1976-77 school year, according to an announcement by Kathy Gogick, editor of Co-Ed magazine.

Beck, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Beck, is a freshman at Warsaw Community High School. She was appointed by Mrs. Pamela Waugh, her home economics teacher.

November 21 1951

    Four Warsaw High School football standouts, all seniors, were honored today as Kurt Freudenthal, United Press sports writer, released the annual United Press Indiana high school football "all-state" line-up.

Triple-threat quarterback Whitley Bell, the team's leading scorer and a three-year regular, was named as quarterback on the third team. Honorable mention went to Eddie Johnston, fleet-footed fullback: Bill Rutherford, outstanding guard; and Captain Dick Sisk, brilliant center and line-backer.

75 Years Ago
November 21 1926

    Word was received in Warsaw that the honors for the first Indiana Legion Post to exceed its 1924 membership for 1927 go to the Adolph Merley Post No. 277, Akron, it was announced at state legion headquarters.

Out of 75 ex-servicemen in the community, 70 joined the American Legion for 1926 and 71 have already signed up for 1927. The Akron Post will be given a citation for distinguished service by National Commander Howard P. Savage.
