November 19 1995

    The Warsaw Racquet Club recently had three tennis players participate in an United States Tennis Association tournament at Matchpoint Racquet Club in Griffith.

Jeremy Ellis won the 12-year-old singles division; Kim Ellis won the girls' 14-year-old consolation singles and Bobby Ellis won the boys' 10-year-old consolation singles.

November 19 1980

    Doug Hutsell and Matt Hampton of the Tiger Wrestling Club were victorious in the Midwestern Takedown Championships at Valentine Boys Club in Chicago last weekend. Hampton won the 182-pound class and Hutsell the 172-pound class.

Hampton posted a 7-0 record in the "A" class that included 22 wrestlers, while Hutsell was 8-0 with 20 individuals competing in his division.

November 19 1955

    Robert L. Blosser, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Blosser, 915 E. Center St., received a trophy from James Riley, Warsaw High School principal, for honors won in the 1955 national model car competition. Blosser, a junior, won first place in the junior age division for Indiana and received $150 in cash.

November 19 1930

    Many Warsawan early Saturday witnessed a display of "stars" hurling themselves at the earth. A meteor display predicted by astronomers took place. The meteors, or Leonids, would have caused immense destruction if they had reached the earth, but they passed through space so fast that they burned out before reaching the earth.
