That Chicago antique collector must have had a good hunch when he bid off two old trunks at the sale of Ralph and Mrs. Ida C. Fifer, of Warsaw, in disposing of the household goods at the farm of William Fifer, deceased, just north of Mentone. A lot of antique furniture came under the auctioneer's hammer. Finally two old trunks were offered. In these were some old wearing apparel, men's old clothes, etc. It is reported that the Chicago man's bid was $5 for the two. The sale was made. In examining the trunks and wearing apparel the purchaser found three $10 gold pieces in one, and $5 in the other.
