Wawasee High School recently had five band members selected for the Tri-State Honor Band, sponsored by Indiana-Purdue University, Fort Wayne. Selected after auditions from band members from Indiana, Ohio and Michigan were Jodi Finlinson, sophomore; Jacob Adams, Jeremy VanLue and Becky Roose, juniors; and Shea Metcalf, senior. All are member of the Wawasee High School Symphonic Band.
Margaret Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle W. Martin, 201 Seventh St., Winona Lake, is one of five coeds chosen by the Greenville College (Illinois) students as candidates for 1973 homecoming queen. Martin is a senior at Greenville majoring in English.
Relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Clingenpeel arrived Sunday evening at their home on Rt. 5 to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clingenpeel and the birthday anniversary of Mr. Clingenpeel. A potluck supper was served after which the evening was spent socially and playing dominoes.
On his 105th birthday Jack Higgins took a ride in an airplane, danced the hornpipe and went for a horseback ride to the delight of 5,000 persons from all over the state who had gathered to help him celebrate.
