Warsaw's Adam Booher, 12, was honored by the AAU for being Indiana's outstanding wrestler. He was given a plaque from the AAU at Sunday's banquet in Indianapolis. Booher, who wrestles in the 130-pound weight class, is in the seventh grade.
NorthWood lineman Kevin Mullet received a plaque from Robert M. Straight, chairman of the IHSAA executive committee, as the winner of the Phil N. Eskew Award for Mental Attitude. It is the most prestigious individual award in high school football. He is the son of Jan Mullet, of Nappanee, and Morris Mullet, of Ohio.
Warsaw will have a democratic mayor next Jan. 1 for the first time in 24 years - since Lewis J. Bibler last served in 1932 - and a majority of democratic councilman since even before that time.
Harry Helser and the Rev. E.M. Riddle left for Lafayette, where they will visit the former's sons, Lester and Leonard Helser, who attend Purdue University, and will attend the "Dad's" day celebration at the university.
