    NORTH MANCHESTER - Erica Coburn, daughter of Eric and Yvonne Coburn of Leesburg, has been named a member of the Helman Hall council at Manchester College.

The Helman Hall council is the governing body of the hall and organizes events for the residents.

November 17 1980

    Lyla Strombeck, North Webster, recently began her new job as a Warsaw Police Department radio operator. She was most recently a dispatcher for the town of North Webster. Strombeck fills the position vacated by Don Blosser, who resigned from the Warsaw Police Department recently and enlisted in the United States Army. Strombeck is being trained by chief radio operator Luclaire Reed.


50 Years Ago

November 17 1955

    Seven women of this area recently completed the 18-hour Girl Scout leadership training course, of which Mrs. J.W. Whiteneck, of Warsaw, was the volunteer leader trainer.

Those who are now eligible to lead a Girls Scout Troop are Mrs. Max Baker, Mrs. Vreeland Huffer, Mrs. Earl Ketrow, Mrs. Lyn Bradley, Mrs. Eugene Kinch, Mrs. Orville Johnston and Mrs. Alfred Patengale.

75 Years Ago

November 17 1930

    About 25 neighbors and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dunnuck gathered at their home and shucked and cribbed about 300 shocks of corn. This was greatly appreciated by Dunnuck, who is suffering from a broken arm. Those who assisted were Earl Ulrey, Russell Baker, Frank Shively, Jake Arch, John and Harold Defries, Amy Gawthrop, Willard Tyler, Chauncy Weybright, Irvin Ferverda, Gerald Grove, Emerald Jones, Manley Deeter, Roy Meek, Emery Cooper, Glen Deeter, Conrad Auer, John Stoute, Ed Smith, Elmer Martin, Ray Ferverda, Art Stackhouse, Alva Crowl and Ray Godshalk.
