    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Chelsea Bishop, a freshman at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earned the Reebok-Great Midwest Volleyball Newcomer of the Year Award at a conference awards banquet on Nov. 18.

Bishop, a 1993 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, also received first-team all-conference honors.

    A new patriotically-painted building - the United States Post Office - has been completed at the corner of Market and Columbia streets in Warsaw. It will be opened to the public Nov. 13, according to Warsaw Postmaster Robert R. Douglas.

The old, historical building, which was constructed during the Great Depression in the 1930s at the corner of Market and Lake streets, will be closed this month.

    Superintendent James Leffel received word from Indiana University that all high and grade school pupils in Indiana will be admitted to the Northwestern-Indiana football game at Bloomington Saturday afternoon for 50 cents. The regular admission price is $2.75.
