    Angie Hurd, a long-time employee of Gambies', East Winona Avenue, is the new owner of the restaurant. After 10 years of running the business, Norman and Irene Clay will be taking an extended vacation in Texas.

    Twenty members of the Winona Lake Woman's Christian Temperance Union and guests met for a prayer breakfast recently at the home of Mrs. Charles Leader, 805 Court St., Winona Lake.

Retired missionaries from China, South America, Japan, South Africa and city rescue missions and representatives from the Warsaw, North Webster, Milford and Syracuse Unions were present.

November 16 1948

    A high award was won by the Warsaw unit of the American Legion auxiliary at the district meeting held Wednesday at Lake Village. Among the histories for the year exhibited at the convention by the 43 units in district No. 2, that of the local unit, compiled by Mrs. Joe Watkins, was awarded second place. In it are the pictures and a brief sketch of each of the officers of the unit, and reports of activities of the group.
