    There were more than 300 deer bagged by hunters this weekend as firearms season began. Hunters are permitted to use shotguns, muzzleloaders and certain handguns during the current season.

    Santa Claus came to Warsaw last night, riding on a fire truck, while hundreds of parents and children lined the streets to catch that first glimpse of the "jolly old man." He arrived at his headquarters in front of the courthouse on Buffalo Street.

    An estimated 1,000 people filled the bleachers at the Leesburg community building Wednesday night, as the Leesburg Lions Club gave away 75 turkeys and several other prizes.

    Mrs. E.H. Smith, who took prizes for raspberries at the county fair this fall, has a patch upon which fine, big mature red raspberries are growing even this late in the fall. A sample of early grapes just picked there are also shown with the raspberries in the Times window.
