Friends of Federal Magistrate Gene B. Lee (Valley Springs) celebrated the judge's birthday with a dinner outing at Stacy's in Leesburg last weekend. We dare not reveal the judge's age for fear of being ruled in contempt.

If the coal miners horse around long enough and the brown-out goes on long enough, the Christmas street lights for Warsaw, installed through the efforts of the Retail Merchants' Division of the Chamber of Commerce, headed by Harold Garwick, will not burn. It seems a pity that a very small minority - John L. Lewis and his 400,000 soft-coal miners, is permitted to tie the country up in knots while the government wastes no time in telling millions of citizens that they can't look at Christmas lights.
Loren Melick, Warsaw's leading amateur fighter, has been engaged as boxing instructor for the Jolly Fellows Athletic Club. The club now has a membership of about 30 and is expected to increase. The club is under the leadership of Joe Basile, the barber.
